State Representative Jason Powell has served in the Tennessee General Assembly since 2012 with his district located in Nashville. Rep Powell passed Tennessee’s first blockchain legislation in 2018 which recognized smart contracts. He unanimously passed the second bill in the United States to recognize the legal formation of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) in his state and lead efforts to advance cryptocurrency, NFT and Web3. Powell works in multifamily real estate as a broker and investor and has been featured on ABC, CBS, Coindesk and the New York Times for his legislative efforts.
